Dr. Muralidhar completed his M.S. Ophthalmology from M. K. C. G, Berhampur, Odisha, followed by a specialized fellowship in Vitreo-retina at the prestigious Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.
He was recognized by the State Chief Minister for his significant work in corneal transplant and eye banking and served as the first Director of Drusti Daan Eye Bank.
Nationally acknowledged, Dr. Muralidhar’s influence extends to education, particularly in designing targeted training courses for aspiring surgeons in AIOS(All India Ophthalmological society). He also holds the position of VAPORS(AIOS) Scientific Chair, Convenor, and Organizer, reflecting his organizational proficiency.

Dr. Alankrita Muralidhar, is a graduate from the prestigious Grant medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai and Postgraduate from the well knownDrShroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, Delhi. She pursued her long term Vitreo- retina fellowship at the same institute after completing her post-graduation. She is a prolific cataract and Vitreo-retinal surgeon. She is also trained in Retinopathy of prematurity screening and management.
Being an avid researcher, Dr Muralidhar has several publications in reputed journals to her credit and was conferred the “Excellence in academics and research” award at the passing out ceremony of the Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, Delhi in 2023.

His academic journey began with an M.S. in Ophthalmology at the esteemed Aligarh Muslim University, laying a strong foundation for his career. Following this, he pursued a Cataract Microsurgery fellowship and subsequently an Oculoplasty fellowship at the renowned Dr. Shroff Charity Eye Hospital in New Delhi.
At the helm of Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, Saharanpur he assumed the role of Chief Cataract Surgical Trainer and Mentor, dedicating himself to guiding young doctors and postgraduates in this field. Demonstrating his commitment to global eye care, he played a pivotal role in a cataract surgical campaign in Botswana, Africa. During this initiative, he conducted an impressive count of over a thousand cataract surgeries, providing vital care to the underprivileged. Notably, his tenure at Dr. Shroff’s was also marked by his proactive efforts in organizing surgical workshops aimed at training Oculoplastic surgeons. In essence, his journey is one of continuous learning, mentorship, and impactful contributions, both within the hospital and on the international stage.
